The Civil Engineering Department at SVKM NMIMS Global University – School of Technology, Dhule (formerly SVKM’s IoT, Dhule) is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the period 2024 to 2027, ensuring high-quality education and adherence to the best academic and industry standards.

Civil Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and natural built environment, such as bridges, roads, canals, dams, and structures. The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the founding Departments of SVKM NMIMS Global University- School of Technology, Dhule (formerly SVKM’s IoT, Dhule) since 2017 with an intake of 60 and offers a full-time B. Tech degree course in Civil Engineering.

The department has full-fledged and well-equipped laboratories of Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Hydraulics, Strength of Materials, and Concrete Technology. The department has 4 PhDs and 9 Post Graduate Faculty Members from different fields of expertise in Civil Engineering. The faculty believes in high-quality teaching and is very active in projects, conferences, and research papers. Beside the high quality teaching and learning, the department is also actively involved in research and development activities. Apart from this, the department also offers consultancy services in various fields of Civil engineering to the reputed government and private sectors.

The department actively promotes professional development through various student chapters and associations, including the Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI], the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), and the Civil Engineering Students’ Association (CESA), providing students with opportunities for technical skill enhancement, industry exposure, and networking.

Department is taking lot of efforts to guide and train the students for industrial internships, software trainings, industrial site visits, expert’s sessions for competitive exam and carrier guidance. The Civil engineering department is recognized and famous for the academic excellence in the SVKM NMIMS Global University.

With this in mind, the Civil Engineering Department, which is a part of the institute since its inception in 2017, strives to develop exceptional engineering professionals by exposing students to various fields of civil engineering such as Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical, and Foundation Engineering, Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering. We are proud to have state-of-the-art laboratories and dedicated academic and technical staff to support our academic program.

In today’s era of development, societal problems have become multi-dimensional, and therefore, our efforts should be the same. With this in mind, the Department’s mission has been to conduct research on difficult engineering problems and deliver effective technical solutions in the various sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering. The department has a strong focus on the research areas of Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Transportation Engineering.

Apart from the academic knowledge, we also assist our students to tackle the challenges of their careers by offering value-added courses such as communication and presentation skills, team building through field study, expert talks, and so on. The department also provides an opportunity to learn software like AUTOCAD, STAD- PRO, ETAB, etc. to make our students more digitalized.

Students are also encouraged and guided to appear for GATE and other competitive examinations like MPSC, IES, etc. Many students of S.E., T.E. have participated in national technical events organized by different colleges and won prizes.

In recent years, private and public sector undertakings to take up various mega projects like metro railway projects, express highway and industrial corridors, flyovers and reservoirs projects, mega and smart cities development.
