Research & Development Cell (RDC)

SVKM’s Institute of Pharmacy, Dhule has established the RDCin order to promote Research and Innovation related activities.The cell works to achieve the following objectives.

Objectives:

  • To promote research culture among the faculty members and students.
  • To improve the quality of institutional research at the national as well as international levels in the form of active publications and patents.
  • To motivate and assist faculty members to fetch research project grants from various funding agencies like SERB, DST, DBT, ICMR, etc. and consultancy service grants
  • To encourage students and faculty members to undergo industrial training.
  • To educate and train students as well as faculty members with modern research tools.
  • To establishresearch-related collaborations with national and international universities.
  • To review and monitor the participation of students and faculties at various national as well as international research platforms.
  • To interlink with Institution’sInnovation Cell for the better outcome of institutional research.
  • To regulate and coordinate the Research Promotion Policy.

Pharmaceutics

  • Nanoparticulate drug delivery systems for targeting of drugs.
  • Formulations for bioavailability enhancements.
  • Formulation and development of novel drug delivery systems: Oral, Nasal, Pulmonary, Transdermal, Topical etc.
  • Development of novel herbal or polyherbal formulations.
  • Multi-particulate drug delivery systems with a major focus on pelletization technology.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Quality Assurance

  • Analytical method development and validation for API / Dosage form.
  • Bioanalytical studies and Herb-Drug interactions.
  • Drug design, molecular modelling, and QSAR studies of APIs for the various activities.
  • Development of biodegradable polymeric formulations.

Pharmacology

  • Preclinical evaluation of drugs or herbals for different pharmacological activities.
  • Toxicity testing in animals.
  • Activitiesrelated to Central Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, Diabetes, Obesity and Cancer.

Pharmacognosy

  • Extraction & isolation of bioactive from phytoconstituents.
  • Fingerprint analysis of herbal drugs and formulations.
  • Development of novel herbal formulation.
  • Evaluation of herbo-mineral preparations.

 

Research Promotion Policy

To motivate the faculty members to contribute towards achieving the research goals of the institute, the Research Promotion Policy has been implemented in SVKM’s Institute of Pharmacy, Dhule as follows:

  1. Incentive for Publications:
    • Journals with an impact factor of 5 and above: Rs. 1 lakh
    • Journals with an impact factor of 3 to 5: Rs. 50,000/-
    • Journals with an impact factor of 1 to 3: Rs. 25,000/-
  2. Incentive for Patents:
    • Grant of National Patent: Rs. 50,000/-
    • Grant of International Patent: Rs. 1 lakh
  3. Seed Grant:
    • Financial support to faculty members for research works (Rs. 1 lakh per faculty).

About Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Institute of Pharmacy established Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) to inculcate ecosystem of innovations in the campus.IIC promotes idea generation, prototype development, product development and startups amongst students and faculties. The institute organizes seminars, webinars, workshops, trainings and competitions to accelerate brainstorming and problem solving inputs. This helps to create pulsating environment for ideapreneurs.

Objectives

  • Inculcating the skills of problem identification, problem validation and problem solving.
